Law & Architecture
Tobin+Parnes recently completed a significant expansion of the offices of Braverman and Associates PC, a prominent New York City law firm specializing in real estate law. Located at 330 Madison Avenue, in a building that once housed a bank, TPDE worked closely with the clients to create new offices and double their office area by adding an adjacent floor.
The firm’s new reception area was positioned at the top of the bank’s original grand marble staircase with an exciting entry wall of new full height patterned glass. A new “floating” internal staircase was designed as a striking sculptural element visible from the reception area. The stair design includes a combination of walnut, glass, acrylic and steel and is set against a contrasting and dramatic backdrop of upholstered acoustic panels that clad the adjacent walls and ceiling, emphasizing the double height of the ceiling.

The offices are elegant and refined. Warm colors and traditional millwork details convey the firm’s generational and established history. Natural light penetrates the interior and efficient lighting systems were selected. Several of the offices and conference rooms remain from the original bank’s executive offices. Detailed plaster ceilings and walls with rich wood paneling were refurbished. Contemporary details and architectural elements are joined successfully with the historic elements.
