In recognition of Carol Tobin’s efforts to “provide a legacy of design excellence” as well as her support of the Queens Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the President of the Borough of Queens proclaimed Wednesday, June 24, 2009 as “Carol Tobin Day.” Moreover, to honor Tobin+Parnes’ excellence and innovation in architecture and interior design as well as to recognize the company’s pioneering use of design to empower people and transform organizations, Carol was honored with a “Good Scouts Award” at a special luncheon recently held by the Queens Labor Council on behalf of the 25,000 girls and boys served by the Queens Council, Boy Scouts of America.
At its annual gala in November 2009, the Parker Jewish Institute (PJI) of New Hyde Park, NY honored Tobin+Parnes Design Enterprises (TPDE). TPDE has had a 5-year successful collaboration with Parker Jewish Institute. They share a common vision to create elder-centered communities where the physical environment is part of treatment that promotes wellness. Parker Jewish Institute is an organization committed to providing superior programs and compassionate heath care in culturally enriched environments. TPDE is proud to be a part of that effort.

Tobin+Parnes is pleased to announce the promotion of Gerard Orozco to Associate Principal. Gerard has been with TPDE for over five years. In his new position, he will be responsible for all facets of project management, including conceptual development, contract and lease review, site analysis, development and coordination of construction documents, contract administration and project management. According to Carol Tobin, Principal, TPDE, “Gerard is an exceptionally creative designer and experienced project manager who has an effective and pragmatic approach to problem solving. He also brings a thorough understanding of project goals and the myriad complexities of the design and building process.”
Michael Wood recently joined Tobin+Parnes as Director of Project Development. Michael’s 30-year career includes a successful track record in business development and marketing across various industries as reflected by his record-breaking and ROI driven performances in several high-profile positions that he previously held.
At TPDE, Michael manages and coordinates the analysis, planning, and development of marketing objectives and strategic plans generating the new business opportunities at TPDE. Michael directs and participates in research that promotes TPDE’s strengths and identifies new opportunities, further developing the firm’s strategic positioning in key sectors. Collaborating with the principals at TPDE, Michael develops programs to enhance client services that realize new growth by introducing TPDE’s breadth of experience and capabilities to an expanded marketplace.
